Cheryl Connor
Honorary Chairperson

Maryland-native and ABC2 News reporter, Cheryl Conner is this year’s Hope In Handbags honorary chair.

Conner has been with ABC2 News since 2010 and is proud to be reporting in her home state, with most of her family as part of the audience. She has moved four times in seven years, with the mission of coming back to where her dreams of pursuing a career in broadcast journalism began.

Previously, Conner worked for News Channel 8 in Arlington, VA, where she covered community issues and was sent to cover national stories, like the tragedy at Virginia Tech. In this position, Conner moved beyond the front of the camera, focusing on photography and editing, as well. News Channel 8 brought her home from NEWS 25 in Evansville, IN, where she served as a weekend anchor/reporter. After graduating from the University of Maryland, her career began in Hagerstown at NBC 25.

Conner is an avid supporter of physical fitness, including inspiring young girls through Girls on the Run. Another true passion of Conner’s is to inspire children through volunteer programs.
